And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven de Pina!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Pina throws a head kick that misses.
Reipas looks for the body kick but de Pina saw that one coming.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Reipas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and de Pina has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from de Pina and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Reipas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reipas lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Riku Reipas just wasn't active enough.
Reipas is looking to clinch but de Pina is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown by Reipas or perhaps it was just good defense by de Pina which made him look bad.

Reipas shoots in looking for a takedown but de Pina manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Reipas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Reipas misses with a takedown attempt - de Pina sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
de Pina throws a hook but Reipas blocks it.
de Pina lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

de Pina loads up on a big right hand but Reipas slips the punch.

Reipas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
