Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Ross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Cruz! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross is looking to clinch. Cruz goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Ross darts in trying to clinch and Cruz counters with a big head kick but Ross shrugs it off. Ross shoots in and drives through. Cruz sprawls well. Ross misses with a two punch combination.
Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruz wants it to stay on the feet. Cruz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cruz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ross to the mat! Ross manages to get full guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Cruz pushes down on Ross's leg and manages to get into half guard. Cruz moves nicely into side control. Cruz working the ground and pound. Cruz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross is not content to let Cruz control the position. Cruz decides to stand back up. Cruz steps back and let's Ross get back to his feet. Ross tries a head kick but it misses.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Ross shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ross wants to clinch. Ross closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cruz circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Ross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ross fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cruz fails with the takedown. Cruz shoots in and bounces Ross off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ross is breathing heavily. Cruz connects with a couple of short punches. Ross is working an open guard so Cruz takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cruz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ross manages to avoid it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ross gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cruz to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cruz won't allow Ross to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz passes Ross's left leg - he's now in half guard. Cruz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Let's hope that Cruz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ross wants to improve his position but Cruz is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ross pushes Cruz off looking to stand but Cruz dives back in and keeps control.
Cruz works his way into full mount! Cruz lands a big shot there that rocks Ross but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Cruz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ross is looking to escape. Ross takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Cruz dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Cruz fails with a takedown attempt. Cruz avoids the head kick by Ross.
Ross misses with a head kick.
Ross on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cruz. Cruz obviously looking to wear him down.
Cruz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ross is trying to get back to full guard. William Cruz has got the better of the ground game so far. Cruz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cruz is trying to control. Ross wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ross blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cruz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz stalling. Cruz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ross! Ross is working to get back to half guard.
Cruz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ross hang on? Ross is squirming around, avoiding Cruz's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz with good strikes from the mount here! Cruz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ross is looking to escape. Cruz unloading with bombs! Cruz lands a big shot there that rocks Ross but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cruz wants to control the pace but Ross is squirming around nicely. Cruz looking to control and managing it successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cruz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz controlling from the full mount. Ross tries to hold on but Cruz pushes him away. Cruz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cruz content just to control the position here. Ross is trying to reverse the position but instead Cruz has taken his back - oops! Ross knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cruz on the ground. Ross is in bad spot here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. What can Ross do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Cruz is looking to control Ross but Ross is wriggling around and keeping busy. Cruz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ross has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Cruz is looking for the choke from the back position but Ross is controlling his hands well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cruz has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Ross! Can he survive? No! He's out! Cruz gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
