Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Elton John! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kiibo Miyazawa! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miyazawa drives through and clinches with John against the cage.
John has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Miyazawa after a bit of a struggle. John tries to pull guard but Miyazawa forces him back to his feet, against the cage. John has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miyazawa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elton John. That's going to take a lot out of him. John has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Miyazawa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. John looking for a takedown. John tries to break free but Miyazawa pushes him back against the cage. Miyazawa manages to break the clinch.
Miyazawa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Miyazawa tries to stand but can't do so whilst John controls his leg. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Miyazawa lands a nice short elbow. John is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. John is looking for a sweep. Miyazawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. John keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. John is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Miyazawa pulls his head out easily. Miyazawa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. John throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
John looks like he's trying to stand up.
Miyazawa wants to stand but John has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Miyazawa wants to stand but his hand is trapped. John uses the opportunity to regain full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Miyazawa defends well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now John is on top in guard.
Miyazawa keeping moving, preventing John from controlling successfully. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Miyazawa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with John. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Miyazawa is working an open guard so John takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. John could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Miyazawa looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. John gets caught flat footed, as Miyazawa shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. John looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miyazawa is one step ahead there. Miyazawa wants to stand but John is controlling his posture from full guard. John is pulling down on Miyazawa's head. It's preventing any offense from Miyazawa, at least for the moment. John is looking for a triangle but Miyazawa pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. John lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Miyazawa! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. John postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Miyazawa looks a forlorn figure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. John controlling the position easily from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elton John dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
John shoots in for a takedown but Miyazawa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. John shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Miyazawa but Miyazawa pushes him off and we're back to square one. Elton John is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. John throws a nice looking combination but Miyazawa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Miyazawa lands a head kick. John smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Miyazawa darts in and clinches John up against the cage. John has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Miyazawa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elton John. That's going to take a lot out of him. John is trying to push Miyazawa away but Miyazawa has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. John wants to take the fight to the mat but Miyazawa manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miyazawa breaks from the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Miyazawa. Those never looked like landing. Horrible takedown by John or perhaps it was just good defense by Miyazawa which made him look bad. John has his takedown stuffed and Miyazawa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. John looks for a takedown but Miyazawa sprawls well. Miyazawa lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Miyazawa throws a quick head kick that skims the top of John's head. John gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Miyazawa counters with a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. John shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miyazawa as he jumps to the side. John dives in and grabs Miyazawa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Miyazawa pushes down on John's head and hops out. Miyazawa misses with a wild combination.
Miyazawa lands a slapping body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! John fails with the takedown letting Miyazawa counter with a right hand. Miyazawa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John trying to control from the bottom.
John is looking for a sweep. Miyazawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. John trying to control here.
Miyazawa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, John has managed to free his arm - good work. John slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Miyazawa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Miyazawa! John is working for a guillotine from mount but Miyazawa frees his head quite easily.
Miyazawa is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Kiibo Miyazawa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! John's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
John is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Elton John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. John looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Miyazawa clinches up against the cage. John tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
John is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Miyazawa to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elton John. That's going to take a lot out of him. John drops down looking for an ankle pick but Miyazawa pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Miyazawa scores with a takedown into John's guard. Miyazawa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. John is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Miyazawa connects with a couple of short punches. John is trying to control the position but Miyazawa postures up. John had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miyazawa defends it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. John has a closed guard, preventing Miyazawa from standing up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miyazawa wants to stand but John is controlling his posture from full guard. John manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miyazawa is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. John content just to control the position here. John wants to control the pace but Miyazawa is squirming around nicely. John with a couple of short strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John wants to finish this one by submission but Miyazawa is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from John. John scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Miyazawa?
John is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Miyazawa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Miyazawa shrugs it off. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miyazawa taking shots to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Elton John showed his dominance in that final round. I think John has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
