Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Praying Mantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodge Cws (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cws has chosen Run devil Run as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Praying Mantis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rodge Cws!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cws closes the distance and clinches up with Mantis, looking for a takedown. Cws pushes Mantis against the cage but Mantis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mantis drives through and clinches with Cws against the cage.
Cws is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Cws is looking to take this one to the mat.
Cws changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mantis fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Praying Mantis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodge Cws.

Mantis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cws drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mantis gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Mantis with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Mantis drives through and clinches with Cws against the cage.

Mantis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mantis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cws.
Mantis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cws fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mantis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mantis darts in and clinches Cws up against the cage.

Cws tries to score a body lock takedown but Mantis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cws is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Mantis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mantis scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Praying Mantis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mantis rushes Cws and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mantis can't break the clinch.
Cws wants a takedown.
Cws blocks an uppercut.
Mantis connects with a knee to the head.
Cws is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mantis pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Mantis breaks the clinch.
Mantis leaves Cws with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Mantis as Cws shoots in.
Mantis lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cws's sensitive parts.

Mantis rushes Cws and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cws keeps control of Mantis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cws has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mantis is trying to keep an underhook but Cws manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Cws seems to be looking for submissions.

Mantis wants to get back to his feet.

Cws is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Cws is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cws is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mantis defends it well.

Cws is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mantis is trying to stand up here but Cws is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Praying Mantis will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A head kick from Mantis lands but Cws takes it in his stride.
Cws fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mantis avoids it really well and circles away.
Mantis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Mantis moves into range and clinches up with Cws.

Cws is breathing heavily.

Cws is trying to drag Mantis to the mat but Mantis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mantis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cws is defended easily by Mantis.

With the fighters up against the cage, Cws throws an elbow but misses.
Cws is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mantis is keeping busy.

Mantis darts in and clinches Cws up against the cage.

Cws has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mantis after a bit of a struggle.
Cws takes an elbow to the forehead.

Mantis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cws avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Mantis closes the distance and clinches.
Mantis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cws.
Mantis landing knees to the head.

Cws works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Cws won't allow Mantis to get back to his feet.

Cws is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cws thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Cws drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Cws as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Mantis screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Cws! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Rodge Cws!
Rodge Cws bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
