Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Waters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Steve King! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Waters. Waters looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! King misses with a wild combination.
Waters dodges the punch combination from King.
Waters forces King back against the cage and clinches. Waters lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of King backwards. King breaks the clinch.
Waters closes the distance and clinches. King is trying to break the clinch but Waters has him pressed against the cage. A left hand lands to the body for Waters.
King wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
King can't break the clinch.
Waters keeps the fight in the clinch, despite King's efforts to push away. Waters misses with a hook from the clinch. Waters's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jab, jab by Waters - just one landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. King looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Waters swats away the attempt to clinch by King. King keeps the fight on the outside. King cracks Waters with a right hand to the side of the head. Waters wants to clinch up but King keeps it at a distance. King wants to clinch up but Waters keeps it at a distance. Waters is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
King tries to clinch but Waters moves out of range. Waters swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Waters has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. King rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Waters moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Waters avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Waters circles away quickly and effectively. A jab lands there for King. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! King throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Waters on the side of the head.
Waters is rocked! Waters avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oh Waters is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Waters circles away from the clinch attempt.
King lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Waters falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
