Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayne Cobb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cobb has chosen The Hero of Canton as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobb misses with a hook.
Jack Ass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cobb is looking to chop away at Ass's legs.
Cobb ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ass moves away.
Ass with a nice cross.
Cobb steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ass.
Ass throws a jab but it's blocked by Cobb.

and Ass takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fighters circling - Cobb throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ass, as that shot connected.

Ass throws a right and a left that Cobb avoids nicely.

Ass shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cobb as he avoids it easily.

Ass closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cobb's guard.

Cobb is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ass connects with a decent elbow.

Ass is trying to ground and pound but Cobb uses the momentary lack of control by Ass to regain half guard.
Ass working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ass is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cobb doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ass.
Cobb regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ass.
Ass throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cobb works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ass stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cobb swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cobb is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ass wants to pass the guard but Cobb is keeping the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nice defenses there by Cobb.
Ass throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cobb on the side of the head.
Ass throws a sloppy head kick and Cobb moves out of range easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ass. Cobb does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cobb throws a shot from downtown. Ass moves away and avoids it.

Ass looks to land a combination. Cobb sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Ass has Cobb pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cobb manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ass jabs Cobb right on the nose. Cobb blinks but takes it well.

Ass feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cobbs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jayne Cobb is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A bone on bone clash there as Ass blocks the leg kick.
Cobb takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Ass will probably get the nod.

Cobb slips a straight right by Ass.
Ass will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cobb tests Ass's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ass swings for the body but Cobb moves out of range.
Ass bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cobb's head backwards.
Ass ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Ass scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ass prevents Cobb from standing back up.
Jack Ass overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Still in half guard, Ass seems content to control.

Ass seems to be looking for submissions.

Ass content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ass wants to take a breather but Cobb is having none of it.
Ass thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cobb's head.
Ass thows a huge punch but Cobb dodges it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ass is on top in guard.
