Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Stevo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and B J Rodgers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Stevo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, B J Rodgers!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Stevo counters with a shoot takedown. Rodgers fights it but they end up in guard.
Stevo trying to control the position from guard on top but Rodgers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stevo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Stevo gets to his feet. Rodgers looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Rodgers closes the distance and clinches.
Stevo tries to pull guard but Rodgers forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Rodgers has picked Stevo up - he's going for a ride! Rodgers dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stevo trying to control from the bottom.
Rodgers is looking to stall here but Stevo recovers full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stevo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rodgers's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodgers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stevo manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodgers trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rodgers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stevo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stevo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rodgers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rodgers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rodgers wanted to stand there but Stevo had control of the position.

Rodgers won't allow Stevo to sweep him here.
Rodgers throws a strike but Stevo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Stevo won't allow Rodgers to sweep him here.
Rodgers wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Stevo manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rodgers manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Rodgers is looking for a triangle here but Stevo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Rodgers gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Rodgers is in all sorts of trouble here.
Stevo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rodgers is wriggling around trying to escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Jake Stevo will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stevo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rodgers is looking to clinch.
Rodgers on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Stevo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stevo wants it to stay on the feet.
Stevo looks to land a combination but Rodgers avoids it well.
Jake Stevo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rodgers fails with a takedown attempt.

Stevo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rodgers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stevo is thwarting Rodgers's attempts to control the position.
Jake Stevo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rodgers wants to improve his position but Stevo is controlling well.

Stevo slows the pace down in half guard.
Rodgers is trying to control but Stevo manages to pass to mount!
The referee warns Rodgers that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rodgers is just holding on here. Stevo manages to take his back.
Stevo misses with an elbow to the head.

Stevo tries to keep control of the position but Rodgers is staying busy.
Rodgers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rodgers is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Stevo is staying active.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Rodgers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Stevo gets his way!
Rodgers wants to control his opponent's hands but Stevo gets his hands free.
Stevo has the hooks in. Rodgers is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Rodgers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Rodgers tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Rodgers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rodgers can't escape the position.
Rodgers is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Stevo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rodgers manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Stevo takes a little break here. Rodgers wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stevo stands up.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Stevo dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Stevo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rodgers escapes and throws Stevo's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Stevo wants to control but Rodgers postures up.

Rodgers wants to control but Stevo is keeping him busy.
Stevo is trying to control Rodgers's posture but Rodgers avoids it.
Stevo gets back to half guard.
Stevo is staying active underneath Rodgers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Still in half guard, Rodgers seems content to control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Stevo is positioning himself well to prevent Rodgers advancing to mount.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rodgers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rodgers showed some decent athleticism there.
Stevo is trying to stand up here but Rodgers is controlling him well.

Stevo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rodgers postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Stevo to stand up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rodgers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stevo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rodgers somewhat.
Rodgers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jake Stevo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of B J Rodgers.

Rodgers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rodgers tries for a takedown but Stevo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodgers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Stevo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rodgers.

Rodgers is looking to control Stevo's arms but Stevo gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rodgers has his back to the cage.

Stevo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stevo manages to end up in side control.
Rodgers manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stevo's best efforts.
Rodgers scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Stevo manages to mount him!
Stevo tries to control but Rodgers wriggling away.
Stevo lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rodgers takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Rodgers wants to hold on but Stevo pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to B J Rodgers.
I think Stevo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
