Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lander Plast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lander Plast!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Shields misses
and Plast counters with a takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Plast works to advance to full mount. Shields defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Shields keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Plast goes for an armbar but Shields turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Shields.
Shields throwing strikes but missing.
Plast throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Shields seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Plast had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shields defends it easily.
