Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Higgs Boson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Laid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boson scores with a nice right hand.
Laid showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boson.
Boson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Boson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Boson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Laid trying to keep a closed guard but Boson is proving a slippery customer.
Laid working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Boson.
Laid throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Boson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boson is in close to Laid's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laid has his foot on Boson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Boson works his way back into a safe position though.
Boson passes Laid's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Boson working over Laid with some ground and pound. Laid looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Boson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Laid's head.
Laid is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Boson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Laid makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Laid.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Laid is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boson lands a couple of elbows.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boson throws a big elbow that misses.

Boson advances position into side control!
Boson tries for a kimura but Laid is defending well.
Laid on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Boson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Laid rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Boson's guard! Nice work there by Laid!
Boson lands with a heel strike from the guard.

Boson is looking for a triangle but Laid pushes his legs off easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boson is on top in guard.
Boson is looking to work some ground and pound but Laid has wrist control.

Laid tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Laid escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Laid has momentary wrist control but Boson slips an elbow through the middle.
Boson chips away with some ground and pound.
Boson scoring with punches to the head and body.
Boson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Laid throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Boson escapes and throws Laid's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Boson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Laid down.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laid is looking to reverse the position.

Laid looks gassed!

Boson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
It looks like Mike Laid has been cut.
Boson is working to tighten is grip on Laid's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Laid has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Boson is really squeezing tight and eventually Laid passes out! Boson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
