Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Weston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Rolla!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weston thows a body shot but no joy.
Weston looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rolla lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Weston circles away quickly and effectively.
Rolla misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Weston.
Rolla throws a quick inside leg kick.
Weston circles away from the clinch attempt.
An inside leg kick from Rolla misses.
Rolla shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Weston counters with a nice body shot.
Rolla closes this distance looking for a takedown but Weston circles away.

Nate Weston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Rolla.

Rolla fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Weston manages to avoid it.
Rolla's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rolla duly obliges.

and Rolla counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rolla thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Weston's head.

Rolla is working for a submission of some sort.
Weston on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Weston tries to get out of the position.

Rolla stands up from half guard.
Rolla tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Rolla shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Weston as he jumps to the side.
Rolla shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Weston defends it nicely.
Rolla shoots for a double leg takedown but Weston sprawls well. He's pushed Rolla's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mike Rolla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Rolla.
Weston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rolla moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rolla shoots in and drives through. Weston sprawls well.
Rolla throws a right and a left that Weston avoids nicely.

and Weston counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Weston walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rolla.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rolla tries to close the distance and clinch up but Weston swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Weston feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rollas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Rolla is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Weston rather than just go for the knockout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rolla is defended easily by Weston.
Weston lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The fighters circling - Weston throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rolla looks to clinch
and Weston makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nate Weston is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rolla shoots in looking for a takedown. Weston tries to sprawl out of it but Rolla keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Weston manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rolla shoots for a double leg takedown but Weston sprawls well. He's pushed Rolla's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nate Weston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rolla goes for a takedown attempt but Weston pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rolla will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mike Rolla showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Weston gets caught flat footed, as Rolla shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rolla gets to his feet. Weston looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The fight stays on the outside here - Rolla looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Weston misses with a series of wild punches.

Rolla has closed the distance and engaged Weston in a clinch.

Rolla gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Rolla stands up from Weston's guard - Rolla perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Horrible takedown by Rolla or perhaps it was just good defense by Weston which made him look bad.

Well Rolla has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
