Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leon Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Ag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza's entrance music is i am #1. A fine choice. Ag is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Iron Lion Zion. Mr Ag has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leon Souza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Ag!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza fails with the takedown
so Ag counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Souza is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Souza keeping moving, preventing Ag from controlling successfully.
Souza has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ag is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Souza.
Ag lands an elbow.
Ag lands a nice forearm strike.
Souza parries the strikes from Ag easily there. Ag is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Souza to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza wants to control but Ag postures up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Souza manages to get back to half guard.
Souza actively working from the bottom here.
Ag really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Souza is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ag pulls his head out easily.
Souza is breathing heavily.

Ag is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Souza doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ag.
Ag missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Souza avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ag.

Ag is trying to control. Souza wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ag looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Souza is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ag pulls his head out easily.

Ag slows the pace down in half guard.

Souza has hold of Ag's hands but Ag slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Ag drops an elbow to the side of Souza's head.
Souza is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ag pulls his head out easily.
Ag throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ag is nestled in close to Souza, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Souza on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Ag missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Ag trying to control from half guard but Souza is working away.
Ag passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Souza!
Ag connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Souza is working to get back to half guard.
Ag goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Souza turns into him and now he's in Ag's guard.
Ag keeping moving, preventing Souza from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Souza wants to pass the guard but Ag is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ag is on top in guard.
Ag got a little sloppy there for a moment and Souza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ag has managed to get both his arms back between Souza's legs - danger averted.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ag trying to control the position from guard on top but Souza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Souza has his foot on Ag's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ag works his way back into a safe position though.
Ag stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Souza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Souza is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Ag frees his head nicely. Oh but Souza has switched to an armbar! Ag is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
