PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenshi Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Hiramatsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayabusa's entrance music is Bob Marley - Bad Boys. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenshi Hayabusa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Patrick Hiramatsu!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayabusa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hiramatsu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hayabusa somewhat.
Hiramatsu avoids the head kick by Hayabusa.

Hiramatsu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hiramatsu throwing strikes but missing.
Hayabusa wants to get back to his feet but Hiramatsu is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hayabusa keeping moving, preventing Hiramatsu from controlling successfully.
Hiramatsu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayabusa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hiramatsu is controlling him.
Hiramatsu is pushing down on Hayabusa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hayabusa is fighting to maintain full guard but Hiramatsu has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hiramatsu stops Hayabusa from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hayabusa is breathing heavily.

Hiramatsu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hayabusa is just riding it out for now. Hiramatsu eventually gives up the hold.
Hiramatsu prevents Hayabusa from standing back up.

Hiramatsu postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hayabusa to stand up.
Kenshi Hayabusa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hiramatsu tries a head kick but it misses.

Hiramatsu rushes Hayabusa and presses him up against the cage.

Hayabusa manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from Hayabusa.

Hayabusa gets caught flat footed, as Hiramatsu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hiramatsu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hiramatsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Hayabusa is retaining full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hayabusa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hayabusa wants to get back to his feet but Hiramatsu is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hayabusa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hayabusa wants to get back to his feet but Hiramatsu passes into half guard.
Hayabusa is trying to stand.

Hiramatsu stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hiramatsu lands a two punch combo.
Hayabusa tries a head kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hayabusa is defended easily by Hiramatsu.
Hiramatsu lunges at Hayabusa with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hayabusa's hand.

Hiramatsu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hayabusa napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hiramatsu has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hayabusa throws a head kick but Hiramatsu moves out of range.
Hayabusa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hiramatsu clinches up against the cage.

Hiramatsu has picked Hayabusa up - he's going for a ride! Hiramatsu dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Hayabusa is trying to stand back up but Hiramatsu is controlling him
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hiramatsu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hayabusa kicks off Hiramatsu and gets to his feet.

Hiramatsu gets the takedown into side control.

Hiramatsu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hayabusa has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hayabusa tries to escape but Hiramatsu is in control.
Hayabusa tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Hiramatsu connects with a big shot to the side of Hayabusa's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hiramatsu has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Hayabusa is in real trouble here. Hiramatsu gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Hayabusa is tapping out! Hiramatsu wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Patrick Hiramatsu!
