The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rietsma has a takedown stuffed.
Pieter Rietsma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rietsma shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Akpomedaye sprawls well. Akpomedaye wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rietsma gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Akpomedaye. No joy for Rietsma on that attempt.
Dennis Akpomedaye has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pieter Rietsma.
Rietsma tries to clinch up.
Rietsma misses with a series of wild punches.
Akpomedaye bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Akpomedaye trying to control the action but Rietsma is working from the bottom.
Akpomedaye has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Akpomedaye wants to take Rietsma's back but he can't do it this time.
Rietsma tries to lock up and control but Akpomedaye gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Akpomedaye goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rietsma turns into him and now he's in Akpomedaye's guard.
Akpomedaye has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rietsma should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Akpomedaye has tightened it up now! Rietsma should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Dennis Akpomedaye started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
