Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam LaFleur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam LaFleur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wayne Palmer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

LaFleur fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Palmer, pushing him back against the cage.
LaFleur tries for a takedown. No joy.
LaFleur will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Palmer up against the cage.
LaFleur can't get the takedown.
LaFleur misses with a knee to the head.
LaFleur leaning his opponent against the cage.

Palmer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Palmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around LaFleur's waist but LaFleur gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Palmer off to one side.

Palmer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Palmer lands a nice short elbow.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice strikes from Palmer there.
Palmer wants to control but LaFleur is keeping him busy.
Palmer not doing much here.
Palmer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks LaFleur with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
LaFleur has hold of Palmer's hands but Palmer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Palmer wants to lay and pray for a moment but LaFleur keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Palmer is pressing down on LaFleur's thigh, looking to free his foot. LaFleur is holding on for now.
Palmer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

LaFleur trying to hold on to Palmer's head to control him but Palmer postures up.

Palmer is working for a submission of some sort.
LaFleur wants to get back to his feet.
Palmer lands strikes from half guard.
Palmer is nestled in close to LaFleur, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Palmer scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Palmer connects with a nice short shot to LaFleur's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

LaFleur is breathing heavily.

Palmer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
LaFleur is not content to let Palmer control the position.

Palmer seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Palmer winds up and cracks LaFleur with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
LaFleur is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Palmer scores with a couple of nice shots.
Palmer working over LaFleur with some ground and pound. LaFleur looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.


LaFleur is rocked!
Palmer drops an elbow to the side of LaFleur's head.
Oh LaFleur is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Palmer lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked LaFleur! More strikes land and this one is all over! Palmer jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wayne Palmer!
Wayne Palmer seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
