Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Garner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carver McNulty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNulty has chosen Still I Rise - Shadows Fall as his entrance music. Carver McNulty will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carver McNulty!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNulty shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garner as he avoids it easily.
McNulty is trying hard to land a takedown here. Garner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Garner has closed the distance and engaged McNulty in a clinch.

McNulty thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Garner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McNulty defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McNulty is looking to work some ground and pound but Garner has wrist control.
McNulty is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McNulty accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McNulty got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McNulty has managed to get both his arms back between Garner's legs - danger averted.

Garner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McNulty as he jumps to the side.
McNulty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McNulty shoots in looking for a takedown. Garner tries to sprawl out of it but McNulty keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Garner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McNulty postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Garner is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McNulty, into his guard.

Oh but McNulty is tightening it up a little... Garner has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Garner reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Garner taps out! Nice BJJ there by McNulty!
