Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Lakes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Barao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barao thumps Lakes with a low kick.
Lakes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Barao dodges the punch combination from Lakes.
Lakes shoots in looking for a takedown but Barao manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lakes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lakes cracks Barao with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Barao cracks the inside of Lakes's front leg.
Lakes doesn't manage to clinch there - Barao circles away.
Lakes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barao swivels and escapes.
Barao lands with a slapping head kick.
Lakes throws a looping overhand right but Barao ducks down to avoid it.
Lakes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Barao makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Barao uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lakes.
Barao misses with a jab, cross combination.

Lakes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Barao backs up against the cage.

Barao is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lakes.

Lakes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Lakes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lakes.

Barao pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barao is looking to slow Lakes down with leg kicks.

Barao gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Lakes is looking for a takedown.

Barao scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Barao is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Lakes is keeping busy.
Lakes is looking to break free of the clinch but Barao has double underhooks.
Lakes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Barao just stands there and leans against the cage.

The crowd cheers as Barao lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lakes doesn't seem phased though.

Lakes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Lakes has a takedown stuffed.
Lakes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lakes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lakes misses with a takedown attempt - Barao sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lakes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Barao manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Lakes is posturing up here but Barao has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lakes tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lakes has to tap! Slick submission there by Barao!
