0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Staton! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Staton paws at him with a jab and circles away. Staton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. King is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Staton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Staton's back! Staton is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Staton is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. King is defending well though. Staton let's go of the attempt for now. King throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Staton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into King's guard. Staton postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Staton cracks King with a solid left hand. Staton wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position. Staton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Staton cracks King with a solid left hand. Staton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. King wants to stand but Staton is controlling the position. Staton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Staton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there. Staton tries to move into full mount but can't pass King's legs. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Staton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. King parries the strikes from Staton easily there. Staton is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable King to escape.

Simba King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Staton is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Staton tries to advance to mount but King denies him.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Staton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Staton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
