Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnjo Chipchase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Already Over as his entrance music. Scott Smith will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnjo Chipchase! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Smith! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Chipchase throws a head kick that misses. Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Chipchase moves out of range easily. Smith looks for the body kick but Chipchase saw that one coming. Chipchase stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Smith. Chipchase shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Smith looks to land a combination. Chipchase sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chipchase shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily. Chipchase shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnjo Chipchase. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chipchase looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Chipchase wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position. Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chipchase looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smith controlling the position well. Smith is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Chipchase passes to side control. Chipchase working the ground and pound but Smith is defending the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chipchase tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chipchase. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smith takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chipchase is working Smith over with some ground and pound from side control. Smith prevents Chipchase from improving position. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chipchase's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Chipchase throwing shots but Smith is blocking nicely. Chipchase not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Chipchase not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Chipchase looks to land a strike but Smith avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Chipchase throws an elbow that misses. Smith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chipchase's guard. Nice move by Smith! Chipchase trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chipchase looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there. Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Chipchase working for a triangle but Smith defends it easily.
Chipchase has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Smith wants to pass the guard but Chipchase is keeping the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Chipchase is trying to control the position but Smith postures up. Chipchase escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith slaps away a takedown attempt from Chipchase, before circling back to the center of the mat. Chipchase shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Smith is looking to improve his position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth. Chipchase seems to be working for a kimura but Smith defends the submission attempt.

Chipchase's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smith connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chipchase scrambles back to his feet. Smith gets caught napping as Chipchase dives in and scores a takedown. Smith manages to retain guard. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chipchase has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chipchase's guard. Chipchase is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Chipchase has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Chipchase is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smith can do to turn this around? Chipchase tries to strike from the bottom.

Smith wants to clinch up but Chipchase keeps it at a distance. Chipchase takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Chipchase tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chipchase somewhat. Scott Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Smith forces Chipchase back against the cage and clinches. Smith lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Chipchase backwards. Scott Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smith is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Chipchase pulls him back up using the underhooks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chipchase pulls Smith into guard.
