Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Fran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Halilov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oliver Fran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amir Halilov!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fran tries to score a power double leg takedown but Halilov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fran somewhat.

Halilov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fran manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fran managing to control the position.
Fran controls Halilov momentarily but Halilov frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fran throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Halilov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fran is in Halilov's guard.

Halilov is taking a breather. Fran says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Fran is not content to let Halilov control the position.
Fran won't allow Halilov to pass to mount.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Halilov is looking for submissions but instead, Fran has regained full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fran bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Halilov's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Fran shoots for a double leg takedown but Halilov sprawls well. He's pushed Fran's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Fran shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Halilov as he jumps to the side.

Fran is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Amir Halilov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fran is doing well to control the position and prevent Halilov from advancing to side control.

Fran is trying to maintain the position but Halilov is very close to passing his half guard.
Fran is staying active underneath Halilov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Halilov has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Fran defend it? Halilov steps over the head and cranks it - Fran is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Halilov!
