Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andry Nikol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Corkran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Andry Nikol has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikol feints a jab promting Corkran to slip. Nikol then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Corkran slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Corkran looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Corkran thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Corkran throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Corkran escapes and gets back to his feet.
Corkran tries to clinch there but Nikol circles away.
Corkran defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nikol.
Corkran takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Corkran keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Corkran closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nikol's guard.

Nikol knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Corkran on the ground.
Corkran connects with a couple of short punches.
Corkran trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Corkran decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nikol, up you get!
Corkran looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Corkran closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nikol circles away.
Corkran pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nikol stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nikol wants it to stay on the feet.

Corkran misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like Mikey Corkran has been cut.
Corkran changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nikol tries to avoid it but Corkran manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nikol to the ground. Nikol escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Andry Nikol has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikey Corkran.

Oooooh!!! Nikol has knocked Corkran down with a huge combo! Nikol steps away and waves a wobbly Corkran back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Corkran is rocked!

Corkran misses with a takedown attempt - Nikol sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nikol lands a right hook to the body.
Nikol scores with a shot to the body.
Nikol closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nikol thuds a left hand into Corkran's body.

Nikol clinches up against the ropes.
Nikol wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Corkran tries to land knees in the clinch but Nikol avoids the damage to the body.
Corkran doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Nikol wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Corkran has him pressed against the ropes.
Nikol wants to get back to striking at distance but Corkran won't allow it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nikol tries for a takedown but Corkran manages to get underhooks.
Nikol blocks an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corkran takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Corkran throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nikol stuffs the takedown attempt from Corkran. Corkran gets slowly back to his feet.
Andry Nikol is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Corkran looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Corkran on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Corkran fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Corkran shoots for a takedown but Nikol saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Nikol looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nikol shoots in but Corkran avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nikol lands with an uppercut that bounces Corkran off the ropes and back into range.

Nikol is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Corkran can do to turn this around?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nikol circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Corkran to the canvas! Corkran doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Nikol keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
