Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yiouski Mi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock has chosen The World's Most Dangerous Man as his entrance music. Yiouski Mi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yiouski Mi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock has Mi up against the cage in a clinch.

Shamrock is trying to trip Mi. He has hold of a leg but Mi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Shamrock persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Mi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shamrock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mi kicks Shamrock off and gets to his feet.
Mi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shamrock.

Mi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shamrock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Shamrock sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mi misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shamrock gets back to half guard.

Mi is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shamrock has managed to free his arm - good work.
Shamrock is looking to improve his position.

Mi missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Mi not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shamrock is just riding it out for now. Mi eventually gives up the hold.
Shamrock makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shamrock.
Mi trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Shamrock manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Mi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shamrock is one step ahead there.
Mi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Shamrock gets to his feet - Mi follows without any prompting.

Mi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shamrock's waist but Shamrock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mi off to one side.
Mi is breathing heavily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shamrock.

Shamrock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shamrock lands in his opponent's guard.
Shamrock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mi wants to sweep here but Shamrock controlling him for the moment.
Shamrock connects with a couple of short punches.

Mi is looking to stand up but Shamrock isn't so interested in that idea.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shamrock has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Shamrock throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shamrock is in Mi's guard.
Mi wants to sweep but no luck.
Shamrock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shamrock wants to control from the top but Mi keeps moving.
Shamrock is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Shamrock would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ken Shamrock has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Shamrock tries to close the distance and clinch but Mi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Shamrock shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shamrock sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mi somewhat.

Mi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shamrock on the ground.

Shamrock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Shamrock has hold of Mi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Shamrock cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Shamrock wants to control the pace but Mi is squirming around nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shamrock stands up from mount. Strange move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Shamrock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Shamrock might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ken Shamrock.

Mi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shamrock as he jumps to the side.

Mi misses with a takedown attempt - Shamrock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Well Shamrock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
