Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Daiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Mason, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mason darts in trying to clinch
and Daiz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mason's guard now.
Daiz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mason has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Daiz has managed to get both his arms back between Mason's legs - danger averted.

Mason looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Daiz has picked Mason up and slammed him! Mason can't keep hold of the triangle and Daiz manages to pass to side control!
Mason tries to buck Daiz off but Daiz is having none of it.
Daiz lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Daiz decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mason to his feet.
Daiz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Daiz counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mason pushes Daiz away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Daiz gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Derrick Mason will probably get the nod.

Daiz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mason wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mason fails to pull guard.
Mason wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Daiz manages to break the clinch.
Daiz moves into the clinch.
Daiz decides to pull guard.
Daiz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mason is aware though and is defending well.
Daiz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Mason tries to stand but Daiz is controlling from the bottom.

Mason wants to control from the top but Daiz keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Daiz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Daiz avoids the attempt from Mason to control.
Daiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mason. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mason really wants to buck Daiz off and get back to his feet.
Daiz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daiz looking to finish Mason with some ground and pound. This is bad for Mason!
Daiz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Daiz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mason to the ground. Daiz is now in Mason's guard.

Daiz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mason pushes a forearm under Daiz's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Daiz is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
