Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mateus Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peekay Williams!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams lands with a kick to the ribs.
Gracie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Williams throws a low kick but Gracie avoids it.
A swing and a miss from Williams.
Williams throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.
Williams smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Gracie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Williams misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gracie.
Williams looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Williams throws a push kick but Gracie slaps the foot to one side.
Peekay Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams swinging wildly here.
Williams takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Williams misses with a double jab
and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Williams looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Williams is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and Williams can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mateus Gracie!
Mateus Gracie looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Gracie gets on the Mic and proclaims "Sam Axe...I know you are here watching!!! This is my first step in getting back what is mine, not yours!!! I will get my rematch soon and reclaim my title!!"'.
