Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wandy Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Phoenix might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Oh la!!. Walker has chosen Fight Night as his entrance music. Wandy Walker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Phoenix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wandy Walker!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker dodges the punch combination from Phoenix.
Phoenix throws a nice inside leg kick.
Phoenix throws a sloppy head kick and Walker moves out of range easily.
Simon Phoenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker throws a low kick but it's checked well by Phoenix.
Phoenix goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Phoenix thows a body kick. Walker tries to catch it but that hurt him.
A head kick misses from Phoenix.
Walker does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Phoenix misses with a kick to the body.
Phoenix tries a head kick but it misses.

Phoenix throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Walker.
That kick from Phoenix tenderised Walker's leg. Walker is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Walker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Walker wants to land a leg kick but Phoenix is out of range.
Walker tries to clinch there but Phoenix circles away.
Phoenix is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

A solid leg kick lands there for Phoenix.

Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phoenix moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Walker counters with a nice double leg into side control. Phoenix won't be happy with that.


Phoenix is rocked!
Walker looks up at the clock and then as Phoenix takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Walker smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Oh Phoenix is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Walker in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Walker is looking to take a break and control but Phoenix is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Phoenix seems to have got his legs back now.
Phoenix is looking to reverse the position.
Phoenix taking a bit of punishment here - Walker scoring with strikes.
Phoenix manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Walker prevents Phoenix from improving his position.
Walker misses with a head shot. Phoenix uses the momentum to regain guard.

Walker throws a big right hand that misses.
Walker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Walker passes Phoenix's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Walker trying to advance position but Phoenix counters by regaining guard.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Phoenix is keeping the position.
Walker pushes down on Phoenix's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Phoenix is looking to control Walker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Phoenix avoid being mounted?

Walker is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Phoenix reverses the position - he's now on top in Walker's guard.
Phoenix wants to control from the top but Walker keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Walker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Phoenix is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wandy Walker will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Phoenix throws a leg kick which misses Walker's front leg but catches the back leg as Walker tries to avoid it.
Walker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Phoenix throws a series of punches but Walker avoids them all with ease.
Phoenix throws a sloppy head kick

and Walker moves into the clinch.
Phoenix is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Phoenix wants to get back to striking at distance but Walker won't allow it.
Phoenix blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Walker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Phoenix.
Phoenix on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Phoenix.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Walker just misses with a elbow thrown towards Phoenix's brow.

Phoenix breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Phoenix turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Phoenix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Phoenix lands a nice leg kick that just misses Walker's sensitive parts.
Phoenix keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Phoenix misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice body kick there by Phoenix.
Phoenix connects with a leg kick. Walker looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Phoenix throws a sloppy head kick
and Walker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Phoenix counters with a low kick, right behind Walker 's knee.
Simon Phoenix is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Walker throws out a loose jab but Phoenix uses good head movement to avoid it.

Phoenix throws a nice outside leg kick.
Walker with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Phoenix displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Walker throws out the jab.
Phoenix tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Walker throws a hook but Phoenix avoids it easily.
Walker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Phoenix makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Walker really felt that one!

Walker throws out a loose jab but Phoenix uses good head movement to avoid it.
Phoenix throws a head kick that misses
and Walker counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walker misses with a lunging right hand
and Phoenix counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Walker is lucky that one didn't land flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Phoenix throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Phoenix pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Wandy Walker will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Walker's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Phoenix scores with a hook to the body.
Walker lands a body punch.
Walker lands a nice knee to the body.
Phoenix managing to block the knees to the body from Walker.
Walker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Phoenix.
Phoenix tries to break the clinch but Walker is controlling the position.

Phoenix misses the shot to the body.
Phoenix throws a lazy body kick
and Phoenix takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Walker misses with an uppercut
and Phoenix counters with a leg kick.
Phoenix throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Good leg kick by Walker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Walker lands with an uppercut that bounces Phoenix off the cage and back into range.

and Walker counters with a left hand that sends Phoenix to the canvas!

Simon Phoenix has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Phoenix is looking for a sweep.
Walker lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Walker cracks Phoenix with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Walker immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Phoenix is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Walker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wandy Walker!
