The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimmerman wants to clinch.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Shorticus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zimmerman circles away.
Shorticus thows a body shot but no joy.
Zimmerman lands a nice hook to Shorticus's body. Shorticus takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Shorticus throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Zimmerman pushes down on Shorticus's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Zimmerman is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Shorticus holds on to Zimmerman as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

Zimmerman is working to isolate an arm here. It's a choreographed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Zimmerman extends the arm and Shorticus is forced to tap!
