Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Cote has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Mullen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Cote! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mullen to the mat! Mullen manages to get full guard. Cote decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. A nice inside leg kick there by Mullen. That's going to slow Cote down. Frank Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mullen darts in trying to clinch and Cote counters with a single leg into guard. Mullen didn't expect that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cote postures up.
Cote is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cote's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cote should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Mullen looking for a sweep. Not yet Mullen, not yet. Mullen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cote. Mullen looking for a sweep. Not yet Mullen, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mullen trying to control the position.
Cote loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cote trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cote preventing the sweep. Cote looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mullen is looking to clinch but Cote is avoiding it.
Mullen tries to clinch up but Cote circles away and keeps his distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mullen tries to sprawl but Cote drives through with a takedown into half guard. Cote is taking a breather. Mullen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cote really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mullen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mullen is looking for a sweep. Cote is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cote is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mullen looking for a sweep. Not yet Mullen, not yet. Cote trying to control the position from guard on top but Mullen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mullen wants to get back to his feet but Cote is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mullen being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cote slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Cote working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mullen is not content to let Cote control the position. Cote wants to work for an arm triangle but Mullen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cote tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Mullen is trying to control but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mullen gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Cote dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mullen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cote. That did some damage! Mullen moves to clinch but Cote breaks away and Cote counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mullen's guard now. Mullen is trying to control the position but Cote postures up. Cote trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mullen is looking to stand up but Cote isn't so interested in that idea. Cote trying to control but Mullen is working from the bottom. Cote sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Charlie Cote. Mullen throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Charlie Cote has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mullen is looking to clinch. Mullen tries to close the distance and clinch but Cote swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cote on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mullen. Mullen obviously looking to wear him down.
Mullen tries to clinch but Cote moves out of range. Mullen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mullen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cote is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mullen to keep the fight standing. Cote tries to pull guard but Mullen won't allow it.
Mullen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Mullen obliges. Cote is breathing heavily. Mullen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Cote throws an elbow but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cote pulls Mullen into guard.
Mullen wants to pass the guard but Cote is keeping the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Mullen trying to control the position from guard on top but Cote is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mullen connects with a couple of short punches. Mullen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mullen passes Cote's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mullen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cote doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mullen. Mullen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mullen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cote does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cote trying to control from the bottom.
Mullen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cote's head. Cote is staying active underneath Mullen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cote is looking to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mullen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cote sprawls well. Cote wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mullen gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mullen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cote manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mullen on his heels. He'll look to pass Mullen's guard now, I'm sure. Cote wants to control from the top but Mullen keeps moving. Mullen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cote defends it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cote trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mullen dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Charlie Cote's cut. That's time! Mullen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cote cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cote lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Cote working Mullen over with strikes here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mullen wants to control but Cote is having none of it. Cote dominating with strikes here. Charlie Cote has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mullen slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mullen is trying to control but can't.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cote trying to control the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! Charlie Cote comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cote has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
