Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Lynch!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

James moves into the clinch.
Lynch tries to break the clinch but James is controlling the position.
Lynch lands a shoulder strike.
Lynch has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lynch lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and James has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from James and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
James moves out of range of the leg kick from Lynch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lynch is defended easily by James.

James digs a good body shot into Lynch's ribs.

James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lynch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

James moves to clinch but Lynch breaks away
and Lynch counters with a slapping leg kick.
James misses with a two punch combination.
Lynch tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and James is able to avoid easily.
A jab from James finds it's way through Lynch's defenses.
James misses with a kick to the body.
James throws a one two combo.
James wants to clinch up but Lynch keeps it at a distance.

Lynch lands with an uppercut that bounces James off the cage and back into range.

James takes a swing at Lynch's ribcage but misses.
Lynch shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Freddy James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Lynch.
Lynch tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but James was well out of range. Poor timing from Lynch.

James drives through and clinches with Lynch against the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that Freddy James will probably get the nod.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Horrible takedown by Lynch or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.

Lynch changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

James parries the strikes from Lynch easily there. Lynch is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable James to escape.
James is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lynch's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lynch is taking a breather. James says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Peter Lynch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Freddy James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Peter Lynch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lynch has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
