Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sho Fukamachi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricardo Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fukamachi shoots for a takedown but Ramirez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ramirez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ramirez connects with a nice looking jab.
Ramirez throws a right and a left that Fukamachi avoids nicely. Fukamachi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Fukamachi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ramirez. Fukamachi shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramirez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fukamachi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fukamachi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ramirez defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sho Fukamachi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fukamachi shoots in but Ramirez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ramirez misses with a few strikes there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nice sprawl there from Ramirez as Fukamachi shoots in. Ramirez misses with a few strikes there.
Fukamachi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramirez as he jumps to the side. Fukamachi is breathing heavily. Ramirez lands a big right hand that sends Fukamachi crashing to the mat! Ramirez stays standing though and waves Fukamachi back to his feet!
Fukamachi is rocked! Ramirez sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Fukamachi's defenses. It connects perfectly with Fukamachi's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
