Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Bonner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant Bonner has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Grant Bonner!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Man.
Man lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bonner circles away quickly and effectively.
Man misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Bonner counters by clinching up.

Bonner jumps guard.
Man wants to get up but he can't break Bonner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bonner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bonner has his hands on Man's head, controlling the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Grant Bonner wasn't active enough on the ground.
Man shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bonner counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bonner.

Bonner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Man works over Bonner's head and body with a nice combination.
Man gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bonner counters with a shoot takedown. Man fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bonner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Grant Bonner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bonner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Man on his heels. He'll look to pass Man's guard now, I'm sure.
Man is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bonner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Man swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bonner prevents Man from getting back to his feet.

Bonner gets to his feet. Man looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Man closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bonner circles away.
Man is breathing heavily.

Bonner clinches up against the cage.
Bonner lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Man is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Bonner breaks the clinch.
Man throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bonner.
Man misses with a takedown

and Bonner counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Man's guard now.

Bonner decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Man, up you get!

Bonner wants to control but Man is keeping him busy.

Man is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bonner is controlling him well.
Bonner tries to move to mount but Man blocks the move with his legs.
Bonner content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Bonner lands some shots froms side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Man wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Bonner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Man is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Bonner lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Man is bucking up trying to escape but Bonner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Bonner goes for an armbar but Man turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Man.
Grant Bonner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bonner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Man doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Man manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bonner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bonner will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Grant Bonner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bonner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Man to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Man fails to land with a series of punches.

Bonner shoots in and bounces Man off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Bonner prevents Man from getting back to his feet.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Grant Bonner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Bonner counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bonner.
Bonner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
