Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John YJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Surprise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Surprise acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John YJ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Greg Surprise!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Surprise tries to clinch up.
Surprise fakes high and swings low for a body shot but YJ manages to avoid it.
YJ tries to clinch up.
Surprise misses with a right hand

and YJ holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

YJ jumps guard and drags Surprise to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Surprise got a little sloppy there for a moment and YJ has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Surprise has managed to get both his arms back between YJ's legs - danger averted.
YJ keeping moving, preventing Surprise from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Surprise stopping the sweep attempt from YJ.
YJ will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Surprise wanted to stand there but YJ had control of the position.

Surprise is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
YJ trying to keep a closed guard but Surprise is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Surprise wanted to stand there but YJ had control of the position.
YJ not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We're going to have a standup here because John YJ wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
YJ tries to close the distance and clinch up but Surprise swats him away and circles back towards the center.

YJ has managed to clinch.
Surprise is trying to work for a single leg takedown but YJ pulls him back up using the underhooks.

YJ's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

YJ looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Surprise really doesn't want to stay on the ground with YJ. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
YJ takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
YJ's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Surprise is looking to control YJ's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Surprise avoid being mounted?
YJ moves into full mount! Surprise won't be happy about that!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Surprise is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Surprise blocking the ground and pound.
YJ controlling the position easily from mount.
YJ has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Surprise's face.

YJ is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! YJ extends the arm and Surprise is forced to tap!
