Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Lok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Evans!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans gets caught flat footed, as Lok shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Evans trying to control the position.

Evans has his foot on Lok's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lok works his way back into a safe position though.
Lok throws a big right hand that misses.
Lok trying to control the position from guard on top but Evans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lok postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lok wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.
Lok has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Evans looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lok is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kevin Lok wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Evans tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lok.
Lok throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Evans uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lok.
Lok closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. Lok pushes Evans against the ropes but Evans circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lok shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Lok. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lok shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Evans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lok doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lok manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lok throwing strikes from guard but Evans blocks nicely.
Lok scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lok is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lok thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lok drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lok jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lok is pushing down on Evans's leg trying to pass to half guard. Evans is fighting to maintain full guard but Lok has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lok throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Evans wants to improve his position but Lok is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lok is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Evans!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lok jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Evans manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Evans really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lok. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sloppy strikes there by Lok.

Lok is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Evans is trying to escape and Lok transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Evans is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lok! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kevin Lok!
