The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cullen feints and as Li raises his hands in defense, Cullen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cullen tries to free his leg and advance position but Li is retaining full guard.
Cullen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cullen lands a couple of digs.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cullen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Li looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Li is looking for a triangle but Cullen pushes his legs off easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cullen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Li counters with a good low kick that Cullen was not able to check.
Li shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cullen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kiett Li. That's going to take a lot out of him.
