The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lil I on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Highwind. Highwind obviously looking to wear him down.
Highwind bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lil I throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Highwind takes the fight into the clinch.

Highwind manages to break the clinch.

Highwind has managed to clinch.
Highwind tries to throw a body punch but Lil I avoids it by throwing Highwind back against the cage.
Highwind unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Highwind creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lil I's defenses.
Lil I tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Highwind lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lil I dives in and grabs Highwind's left leg, looking for a takedown. Highwind pushes down on Lil I's head and hops out.
Highwind stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Highwind wants it to stay on the feet.
Lil I tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Highwind was well out of range. Poor timing from Lil I.
Lil I throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Horrible takedown by Lil I or perhaps it was just good defense by Highwind which made him look bad.

Highwind moves out of range as Lil I throws a body kick.
Lil I on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Highwind is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Lil I looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Highwind prevents Lil I from breaking the clinch.

Highwind throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lil I closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lil I wants to take a breather but Highwind is having none of it.
Lil I wants to free his trapped foot but Highwind is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Highwind is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lil I sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Highwind's guard.

That's time! Highwind's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Lil I's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

A nice leg kick lands there from Highwind.
Highwind throws a wild body kick that Lil I sees coming a mile off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Highwind is pressed up against the cage. Lil I has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Highwind down to the mat. Highwind avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lil I goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Highwind has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lil I but great work by Highwind.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
