Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Batista de Guia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryoga Hibiki! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hibiki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. de Guia slaps away a takedown attempt from Hibiki, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hibiki falls off balance throwing a combination
and de Guia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hibiki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as de Guia sprawls well. de Guia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hibiki gets slowly back to his feet. Batista de Guia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryoga Hibiki. de Guia drives through and clinches with Hibiki against the cage.
de Guia has Hibiki pressed against the cage, preventing Hibiki from circling away and getting back to striking at range. de Guia lands a nice shot to the body. Hibiki takes an elbow to the temple. The referee is keeping an eye on de Guia - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hibiki is defended easily by de Guia. Hibiki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. de Guia tries to avoid it but Hibiki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag de Guia to the ground. de Guia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. de Guia has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. de Guia using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Hibiki looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! de Guia decides to pull guard. de Guia pushes a forearm under Hibiki's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hibiki is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
