The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gardner lands a decent elbow from side control.
Gardner is putting a hurting on Stakanov here, landing some big shots from side control.
Stakanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gardner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gardner throws a strike aimed at the side of Stakanov's head but Stakanov avoids it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
