PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jade Malikai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark comes into the arena with U-Fig blaring out of the sound system. Malikai has chosen Big in Japan - Guano Apes as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jade Malikai!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark moves into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Malikai takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Malikai drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Clark wants to get back to striking at distance but Malikai won't allow it.
Malikai tries to stall but Clark uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Clark is trying to force a seperation but Malikai has the dominant position.
Clark wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Malikai drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Malikai just misses with a elbow thrown towards Clark's brow.
Malikai goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Malikai with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Clark keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Malikai's efforts to push away.
Clark can't break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Malikai prevents Clark from breaking the clinch.
Clark wants to get back to striking at distance but Malikai won't allow it.
Malikai has Clark pressed against the cage, preventing Clark from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Clark is looking to break free of the clinch but Malikai has double underhooks.
Malikai is looking to control Clark's arms but Clark gets an underhook and turns him. Now Malikai has his back to the cage.
Malikai trying to land knees to the body.
Malikai is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Malikai lands a nice knee to the body.
Clark is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Malikai tries to circle away but Clark has him pinned against the cage.
Clark has Malikai pressed against the cage, preventing Malikai from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Clark blocks an elbow strike from Malikai.
Malikai misses with a body punch.
A frustrated look appears on Clark's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Malikai breaks the clinch.
Clark throws a head kick that misses.
Clark scores with a three punch combo!
Jade Malikai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Clark counters by moving into the clinch.
Malikai lands an elbow inside.
Clark wants to get back to striking at distance but Malikai won't allow it.

Clark breaks the clinch.
Clark stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Clark wants it to stay on the feet.
Vincent Clark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jade Malikai.
Clark lands with a shot to the body.
Clark circles away from the clinch attempt
and Clark counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Clark shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Malikai defends it nicely.
Malikai wants to clinch but Clark slips to the side
and Clark counters with a one-two to the body.
Malikai tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Clark counters with a left and a right that stings Malikai.
Malikai looks gassed!

Malikai tries to clinch but Clark moves out of range.
Malikai is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Malikai has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Malikai is rocked!
Malikai wants to clinch but Clark slips to the side

and Clark counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Malikai's guard now.
Malikai is still in real trouble! Can Clark finish him?
Malikai preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Malikai seems to have recovered his senses.
Malikai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clark's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malikai accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Clark is wriggling around but Malikai manages to pass to half guard.
Malikai not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Clark kicks Malikai off and gets back to his feet.
Malikai is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Malikai wants to clinch but Clark slips to the side
and Clark counters with a one-two to the body.

Clark darts in and clinches Malikai up against the cage.
Malikai throws an elbow but it misses.
Clark wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Malikai tries to land knees in the clinch but Clark avoids the damage to the body.
Malikai lands an elbow that stopped Clark in his tracks for a moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Malikai throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Malikai breaks from the clinch.
Malikai is looking to clinch but Clark is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vincent Clark dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Malikai misses with a takedown attempt - Clark sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Clark throws a series of punches but Malikai avoids them all with ease.
Clark lands a slapping body shot.
Malikai is breathing heavily.
Clark lands a jab-cross combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Clark catches Malikai with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Malikai forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vincent Clark!
After the fight, Vincent Clark was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
