Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Spanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by UFC - Face the Pain. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mick Spanner! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spanner closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Jones scores with the left hand. Spanner knows he should have avoided that one. Spanner misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Spanner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spanner somewhat. Spanner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Spanner gets slowly back to his feet. Jon Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Spanner. Spanner shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Spanner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jones lands with an uppercut that bounces Spanner off the cage and back into range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spanner throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Spanner gets in close and instigates a clinch. Spanner trying to land knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones tries to break the clinch but Spanner is controlling the position. Jones wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Spanner gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spanner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Spanner trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Spanner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Jones throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jones looking for a guillotine here but Spanner defends easily.

Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Spanner is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spanner trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spanner works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Spanner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spanner has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted. This has been an exciting period of action! Spanner working some strikes from top position. Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Spanner is aware though and is defending well. Spanner content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Spanner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Spanner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spanner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spanner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Spanner's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones prevents Spanner from getting back to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones wants to pass the guard but Spanner is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spanner keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones wants to pass the guard but Spanner is keeping the position. Jones stops Spanner from standing up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spanner can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Spanner looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Spanner looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Spanner! Spanner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Spanner lands a few punches from side control. Spanner advances to full mount. Jones is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Spanner avoids the attempt from Jones to control. Spanner lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones is trying desperately to improve position. Jones throwing hammer fists to the chest of Spanner. What's that going to do exactly? Spanner scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Spanner cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Spanner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Spanner postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Jones badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Spanner around the waist but Spanner pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Spanner is the winner by TKO! Spanner jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mick Spanner!
