The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrell throws a right hand that Carlin ducks under and follows up with a left that Carlin also avoids with ease.
Carlin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ferrell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Carlin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ferrell's jab looks to have found its range, popping Carlin under the eye.
Carlin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ferrell swivels and escapes.
Nice shot by Ferrell.
Ferrell looks to land a combination but Carlin avoids it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ferrell waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Carlin. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Carlin to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Carlin is pulling down on Ferrell's head. It's preventing any offense from Ferrell, at least for the moment.
Ferrell is working Carlin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ferrell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Carlin has momentary wrist control but Ferrell slips an elbow through the middle.
Carlin is looking to stand up but Ferrell isn't so interested in that idea.
Ferrell throws an elbow that misses. Carlin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ferrell's guard. Nice move by Carlin!
Ferrell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ferrell tries to get out of the position.

Ferrell wants to get back to his feet but Carlin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carlin wanted to stand there but Ferrell had control of the position.
Carlin prevents Ferrell from getting back to his feet.
Ferrell keeping moving, preventing Carlin from controlling successfully.
Ferrell wants to stand but Carlin is controlling the position.

Carlin wants to control from the top but Ferrell keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Carlin wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ferrell misses with a double jab.
Carlin shoots in but Ferrell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ferrell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Carlin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Carlin looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ferrell lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Carlin sprawling to the canvas. Ferrell follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Carlin hang on?

Carlin is rocked!

It looks like John Carlin has been cut.
Ferrell is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Carlin is hurt! He's hurt bad - Ferrell fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Carlin from any more punishment! Congratulations to Ferrell! Great finish!
