Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scorpion Sting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sting comes to the cage accompanied by Boom Boom Pow. Kurt Angle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kurt Angle! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Angle looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Angle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Angle lands with a punch from half guard. Angle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sting with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Angle trying to mount his opponent but Sting defends it. Sting could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Angle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Angle working over Sting with some ground and pound. Sting looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Angle seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Sting tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Angle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sting is fending him off so far but Angle persists. Nope, Sting circles away and we're back to standing. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Angle blocks a head kick by Sting.

Angle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sting is breathing heavily. Angle fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Angle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sting swivels and escapes. Scorpion Sting has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kurt Angle. Sting gets caught flat footed, as Angle shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Angle wants to control from the top but Sting keeps moving. Angle throws a strike but Sting rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Angle tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sting tries to free his leg and advance position but Angle is retaining full guard. Angle striking off his back but it's not causing Sting any problems. Sting would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Angle wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Angle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sting tries to roll over but Angle keeps him under control. Ground and pound from Angle. Angle stalling away here and it's allowed Sting to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Angle throws a strike but Sting rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Angle looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sting is one step ahead there. Angle is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sting passes Angle's left leg - he's now in half guard. Angle strikes from the bottom but Sting passes into mount!
Angle tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sting takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Angle covering up well under a barage of strikes. Sting not allowing Angle to control his hands. Angle is really stuck here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kurt Angle dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Angle takes a shot right to the bread basket. Sting moves in looking to clinch but Angle pushes him off. Sting stuffs the takedown. Sting moves in looking to clinch but Angle pushes him off. Sting lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Sting tries to clinch up but Angle circles away and keeps his distance. Sting tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Angle paws at him with a jab and circles away. Sting looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. No luck for Sting with that takedown attempt. Angle shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sting's guard. Angle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Angle stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Sting has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Angle manages to get his head free but now Sting has transitioned to an armbar! Angle grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Sting! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
