Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ilja Vasuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Pereira! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira dives in and scores a takedown into Vasuta's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Vasuta looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vasuta preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasuta wants to sweep but no luck. Vasuta is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Vasuta has his hands on Pereira's head, controlling the position. Vasuta had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pereira defends it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vasuta has his foot on Pereira's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pereira works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pereira stands and throws Vasuta's legs to the side, diving into side control. Vasuta is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pereira asserts his dominance and retains side control. Vasuta is not content to let Pereira control the position. Pereira tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Vasuta is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Pereira. No joy for Vasuta on that attempt. Vasuta gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pereira tries to pull guard but Vasuta won't allow it.

Vasuta feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pereira's calf. Sloppy strikes from Pereira. Those never looked like landing. Vasuta rushes Pereira and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Vasuta using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Pereira looks gassed! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vasuta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vasuta fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasuta lands a right hook to the body.
Pereira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilja Vasuta. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vasuta looks for a takedown but Pereira sprawls well. Vasuta takes the fight into the clinch. Vasuta has had enough of the clinch but Pereira keeps him there for the moment. Vasuta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vasuta moves into the clinch. Vasuta manages to break the clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Vasuta shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vasuta showed some decent athleticism there. Vasuta lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasuta is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vasuta is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Vasuta takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pereira is defending against the submission attempts here by Vasuta.
Vasuta passes to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ilja Vasuta dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vasuta. Pereira is looking to clinch. Pereira throws a shot from downtown. Vasuta moves away and avoids it. Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vasuta paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vasuta gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pereira manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ilja Vasuta overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vasuta is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pereira is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pereira has escaped and now he's on top! Vasuta manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Vasuta shoots in and drives through. Pereira sprawls well. Vasuta lands a two punch combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasuta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vasuta is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Vasuta is nestled in close to Pereira, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Vasuta is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pereira has managed to free his arm - good work. Pereira strikes from the bottom but Vasuta passes into mount!
Vasuta landing strikes, looking to finish! Vasuta looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Pereira is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vasuta content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasuta landing punches. Pereira working to try and regain half guard.
Pereira tries to hold on but Vasuta postures up. Vasuta lands with some strikes. Vasuta punishing his opponent with strikes. Vasuta has hold of Pereira's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pereira manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Vasuta lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasuta working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Pereira turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Vasuta off and cradles Pereira's limp body as Vasuta celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ilja Vasuta! Ilja Vasuta made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'He is a good man. We are friends already year. But today I was stronger. Thanks to everyone who supported me, thanks to my family, thank you Paulo. Now I need in a little rest, but after a while you will see me in the octagon.
