Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Copello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copello kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Por una cabeza - Carlos Gardel. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Alves! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Copello displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Alves closes this distance looking for a takedown but Copello circles away. Alves changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Copello tries to avoid it but Alves manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Copello to the ground. Copello escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Copello tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Alves shoots and misses and Copello counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Carlos Copello has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Alves. Alves keeps control of Copello as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Alves has Copello pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Alves pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Copello tumbling to the mat - Alves dives into Copello's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Alves's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Alves throwing strikes from guard but Copello blocks nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! That's one minute gone in the round. Alves is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Alves lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Copello wants to stand and escape but Alves is having none of it. Alves throws a big right hand that misses. Alves working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Copello's head. Alves won't allow Copello to get back to his feet. Alves working some strikes from top position. Alves is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Alves lands a couple of digs. Alves throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alves with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Copello has momentary wrist control but Alves slips an elbow through the middle. Copello utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Alves working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Alves lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Alves lands a couple of elbows. Alves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Copello is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alves is controlling him. Copello on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Copello tries to get out of the position. Alves postures up in Copello's guard and throws a big left but Copello blocks it.

Copello is rocked! Alves chips away with some ground and pound. Oh Copello is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Copello wants to get back to his feet but Alves is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alves scoring with punches to the head and body. Alves loads up on a big left hand. Copello felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Alves looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Copello can't hide his disappointment, as Alves celebrates the victory.
