Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Quick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent misses with a takedown and Quick counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Quick slaps away a takedown attempt from Kent, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kent takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Quick wants to clinch up but Kent keeps it at a distance. Kent lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Quick misses with a series of wild punches.
Quick forces Kent back against the cage and clinches. Kent jumps guard but Quick turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clark Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quick content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Quick might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kent kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Quick wants to stand and escape but Kent is having none of it. Quick wants to sweep here but Kent controlling him for the moment. Kent trying to control the position from guard on top but Quick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kent looking to sit in guard and control but Quick gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kent lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Quick!

Quick just trying to survive but Kent is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Kent tries to get the hooks in deep but Quick pushed the leg off. Quick is trying to get back to his feet but Kent has full control of the position and if anything, Quick has just worked his way into a worse spot. Quick grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Can Quick hold on?! Kent is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Quick wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes. Kent looking to control but Quick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kent wants to take Quick's back but he can't do it this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quick tries to hold on but Kent pushes him away. Kent cracks Quick with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Quick is working to get back to half guard.

Clark Kent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kent jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Quick is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Quick and Kent has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Quick manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kent's best efforts. Kent works his foot free and advances to mount. Kent goes for an armbar but Quick turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Quick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Quick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kent swivels though and keeps the full guard. Quick trying to control but Kent is working from the bottom. Quick would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Quick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kent is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quick trying to control the position from guard on top but Kent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kent tries to pull guard but Quick forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Quick unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Kent! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Quick is unloading with more strikes now! Kent drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
