Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnson Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Briggs comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Be Touched. Johnson Briggs could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Randy Gonzales's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnson Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Gonzales! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gonzales avoids the head kick by Briggs.
Gonzales swats away the attempt to clinch by Briggs. Gonzales throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Briggs was covering up waiting for the punch and Gonzales finishes the takedown easily into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Briggs looking to control.
Briggs wants to sweep but no luck. Briggs is trying to control the position but Gonzales postures up. Briggs is adopting a defensive guard. Briggs tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Johnson Briggs. Gonzales fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Briggs sprawls well initially but Gonzales persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs controlling the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Briggs tries to get to full guard but Gonzales has control of the leg. Gonzales looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Gonzales is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Briggs tries to roll over but Gonzales keeps him under control. Briggs is not content to let Gonzales control the position.

Gonzales must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gonzales controls from within his opponent's guard. Gonzales trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Gonzales forces his way into half guard. Gonzales looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Briggs is trying to stand back up but Gonzales is controlling him
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzales trying to control from half guard but Briggs is working away. Briggs tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gonzales slows the pace down in half guard. Briggs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gonzales is working away from the top position though. Gonzales trying to control the action but Briggs is working from the bottom. Briggs is trying to maintain the position but Gonzales is very close to passing his half guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Briggs gets a takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gonzales wants to control but Briggs is keeping busy.

Briggs trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzales is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gonzales is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Briggs defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Gonzales dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gonzales bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Briggs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A lull in the action here. Gonzales trying to control the action but Briggs is working from the bottom. Briggs sneaks back into half guard. Briggs is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs gets full guard. Gonzales pushing down on Briggs's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Briggs wants to control but Gonzales is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gonzales is trying to control. Briggs wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Briggs is looking for a sweep. Gonzales is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Briggs is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gonzales pulls his head out easily. Gonzales trying to control from half guard but Briggs is working away. Randy Gonzales has got the better of the ground game so far. Gonzales wants to free his trapped foot but Briggs is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briggs keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Gonzales is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gonzales seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Gonzales is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Briggs defends it well. Briggs is trying to stand back up but Gonzales is controlling him

Randy Gonzales showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
No joy there for Briggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A punch combination from Briggs misses. Johnson Briggs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gonzales looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Briggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gonzales stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Briggs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gonzales trying to control the position from guard on top but Briggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gonzales avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Briggs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Briggs keeping full guard, as Gonzales tries to pass. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gonzales shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Briggs is in trouble now - Gonzales has advanced to mount! Briggs wants to control but Gonzales is having none of it. Gonzales can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Briggs is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs tries to lock up and control but Gonzales gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Briggs stops Gonzales from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Briggs bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Briggs wants to control from the top but Gonzales keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Briggs passes Gonzales's left leg - he's now in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Randy Gonzales. Well Gonzales has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
