Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demarcus Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swanson tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Swanson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.
Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss.

Jackson has managed to clinch.
Swanson fails to pull guard.

Swanson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Swanson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Swanson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Swanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Swanson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Swanson manages to end up in side control.
Swanson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Swanson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Swanson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jackson tries to escape back to his feet but Swanson has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Jackson's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Jackson is tapping! Swanson saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
