Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demarcus Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Swanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demarcus Jackson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swanson swinging wilding here.
Swanson tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Swanson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes. Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss. Swanson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jackson has managed to clinch.
Swanson fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Swanson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Swanson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Swanson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Jackson stalls. Swanson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Swanson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Swanson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Swanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Swanson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Swanson tries to strike from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jackson misses with a body shot.
Swanson lands a lovely overhand right. Swanson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Swanson staying out of range there. Demarcus Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jackson on the wrong end of a nice jab. Swanson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jackson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Swanson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jackson counters with a body kick that stops Swanson in his tracks momentarily. Swanson is breathing heavily. Jackson is looking to clinch but Swanson is avoiding it.
Swanson swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jackson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jackson lands a knee to the body.
Jackson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Swanson backwards. Jackson lands a right hand. Jackson leaning against his opponent.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Jackson. Jackson cracks Swanson with a nice body shot. Jackson works on Swanson's body with a couple of short punches. A short left from Jackson. Jackson goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Jackson scores with a shot to the side of Swanson's head. Swanson can't get the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson lands an elbow just above Swanson 's eye. Swanson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Swanson manages to end up in side control. Swanson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Swanson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Swanson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jackson tries to escape back to his feet but Swanson has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Jackson's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Jackson is tapping! Swanson saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
