Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by Black Nurse by Glassjaw. Jackson has chosen I dont give a fuck as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Hunter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Jackson! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.

Jackson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A good leg kick by Jackson. Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hunter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Good leg kick by Jackson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hunter lands a leg kick that knocks Jackson off balance momentarily. Both fighters circling a little - Hunter finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Jackson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Hunter throws out a loose jab but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it. Hunter throws a hook but Jackson blocks it. Jackson throws a head kick but Hunter moves out of range.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Hunter moves out of range easily.
Hunter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Hunter persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hunter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hunter is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hunter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jackson is trying to escape the position but Hunter is controlling the position. The strikes coming from Hunter are missing the target in this wave of attacks. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hunter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Hunter seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Hunter tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Jackson is not content to let Hunter control the position. Jackson tries to escape but Hunter is in control.

Jackson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hunter. Hunter scores with a couple of short elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hunter landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Jackson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Hunter dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jackson throws a head kick that misses. Jackson throws a nice outside leg kick. A lazy body kick from Jackson and Hunter counters with a stiff right hand. Jackson throws a head kick that misses. Hunter on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Hunter misses with a low kick. Jackson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Curtis Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hunter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily. Hunter throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jackson counters with a body kick that stops Hunter in his tracks momentarily. Hunter checks a low kick from Jackson. Jackson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hunter throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hunter throws out a loose jab but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it. Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Hunter moves out of range easily. Hunter misses the shot to the body. Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Jackson. Jackson throws a front kick that sends Hunter stumbling back into the cage.

and Jackson counters with a head kick. Hunter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Hunter moves out of range easily.
Hunter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hunter advances nicely into full mount.

Hunter with shots to the head and body - Jackson looks very uncomfortable down there. Hunter trying to control but Jackson is having none of it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hunter throwing strikes here but Jackson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hunter throws some wild stikes that Jackson manages to avoid easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Curtis Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Jake Hunter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hunter loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Jackson scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Hunter land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Hunter stands and salutes the crowd.
