Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scotty Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones gets a clinch.
Jones looking for a takedown.
Morrison wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Jones tries a body shot but Morrison blocks it.
Morrison misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Morrison tries to break the clinch but Jones is controlling the position.
Morrison is trying to break free.
Morrison has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Morrison walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Morrison closes the distance but Jones moves to the side
and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Morrison will be more careful next time no doubt.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morrison connects with a jab.
Jones lands a jab to the nose.
Morrison has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Scotty Morrison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Jones.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Morrison gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
Jones is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Morrison is defending well for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Morrison manages to get himself to full guard.
Morrison is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.

Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jones stands up and beckons Morrison to his feet.

Jones scores with a hook to the body.

Jones pulls guard effortlessly.
Morrison has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jones throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Jones has Morrison pulled in close to control his posture.

Jones manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jones creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jones is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Morrison wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Jones keeps control of Morrison as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Morrison wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Morrison turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Morrison tries to break free but Jones pushes him back against the cage.
Morrison is trying to break the clinch but Jones is controlling him.
Morrison wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jones content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Morrison is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
Jones's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Morrison wants to stand and escape but instead Jones has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Morrison moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Morrison gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Morrison is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Jones is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jones tries to break the clinch but Morrison is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Morrison's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jones throws a sloppy head kick
and Morrison counters with a body kick.
Morrison lands with a straight right. Jones didn't see that one coming.
Morrison throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Morrison swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Morrison tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing.
Morrison tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.

Jones gets a clinch.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morrison wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Morrison has the dominant position.
A head punch on the inside from Morrison fails to land.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Jones keeps control of Morrison as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jones jumps guard.
Morrison is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
Morrison won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jones working for submissions but it's allowed Morrison to get to half guard.
Morrison tries to stand and escape but Jones actually recovers to full guard.
Morrison has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from.

Jones has a closed guard, preventing Morrison from standing up.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Morrison defends it easily.

Jones doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Morrison avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Morrison trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morrison being controlled here momentarily.

Jones pushes Morrison off and scrambles back to his feet.
Morrison wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
Scotty Morrison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Marcus Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Jones in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Morrison throws a solid leg kick but Jones takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Morrison.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scotty Morrison.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
