Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sean Spitteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spitteri's entrance music is Before I Forget. A fine choice. Gracie has chosen Audiomachine - Breath and Life as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Carlson Gracie was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Spitteri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spitteri clinches up with Gracie and pushes him back against the cage.

Spitteri breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Spitteri circles away easily
and Spitteri counters with a straight right hand.

and Spitteri cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Spitteri moves into the clinch successfully.
Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spitteri is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sean Spitteri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlson Gracie.

Spitteri's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Spitteri throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Spitteri connects with a decent elbow.

Gracie has his foot on Spitteri's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spitteri works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Spitteri lands a left and a right that send Gracie crashing to the mat, dazed. Spitteri thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spitteri accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Spitteri looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Spitteri cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Well Spitteri has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
