Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sirill Kidunov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Good Fighter! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kidunov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Fighter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fighter lands in his opponent's guard. Fighter wants to control from the top but Kidunov keeps moving. Fighter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Fighter has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Fighter tries to clinch up but Kidunov circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidunov throws a one two combo.
Fighter feints and as Kidunov raises his hands in defense, Fighter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kidunov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fighter on the ground. Fighter trying to control but Kidunov is working from the bottom. Kidunov is breathing heavily. Fighter wants to pass the guard but Kidunov is keeping the position. Fighter sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kidunov's guard. Fighter trying to control the action but Kidunov is working from the bottom. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kidunov is trying to stand up here but Fighter is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fighter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Fighter not doing much here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Fighter trying to control from half guard but Kidunov is working away.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Good Fighter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Fighter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sirill Kidunov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fighter misses with a double jab.
Kidunov with a lazy takedown attempt and Fighter makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kidunov really felt that one! Nice uppercut lands for Fighter. That snapped Kidunov's head back.
It looks like Sirill Kidunov has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fighter scores with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Fighter lands a big head kick that sends Kidunov tumbling to the mat! Fighter takes a step backwards and waves Kidunov back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kidunov is rocked! Fighter is looking for a takedown. Wow, that's a brutal slam - Kidunov is in big trouble! Fighter is landing strikes from the mount and this one is all over! The ref jumps in to save a confused looking Kidunov. Poor guy.
