Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danger Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danger Joe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Hughes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danger Joe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes punishes Joe's body with a nice straight punch.
Joe looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Joe tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Joe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hughes tries for a takedown but Joe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Joe looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hughes looking to pass the guard.
Hughes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hughes forces his way into half guard.
Hughes is looking to advance position but Joe won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hughes content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Hughes is looking for a kimura but Joe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hughes to get the leverage.

Hughes tries to pass to full mount but Joe defends it.
Hughes wants to take a breather but Joe is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hughes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Joe defends it well.

Joe is trying to maintain the position but Hughes is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Joe is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Joe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hughes passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Hughes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Joe, who protects the arm well.

Joe gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Hughes mounts Joe! Really nice guard pass there!
Hughes controlling the pace for now.
Hughes is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Joe is in real trouble.
A lull in the action here.
Joe breaks Hughes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Hughes looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hughes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Joe manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hughes passes Joe's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hughes passes to side control.

Hughes has hold of Joe's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Joe seems comfortable defending it but Hughes has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Joe is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Joe is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hughes couldn't care less - he's delighted!
