Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Del Angel gets caught napping as Ellis dives in and scores a takedown. Del Angel manages to retain guard.

Ellis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Del Angel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ellis has Del Angel in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ellis is looking for a triangle but Del Angel pushes his legs off easily.

Ellis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Del Angel defends well.

Ellis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Del Angel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ellis throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Del Angel escapes and throws Ellis's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Del Angel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ellis's shoulder. That is not cool.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Del Angel might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Ellis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Del Angel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Ellis's face as Del Angel controls the position.
Del Angel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ellis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ellis tries to improve position but can't.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ellis is trying to escape the position but Del Angel is controlling the position.
Ellis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Diego Del Angel has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Ellis postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Del Angel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ellis, into his guard.

Ellis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Del Angel controls the pace.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Ellis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Ellis shoots in and bounces Del Angel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Ellis has gone for a leg lock! Del Angel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ellis's guard.

Ellis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Del Angel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Del Angel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ellis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Del Angel has managed to get both his arms back between Ellis's legs - danger averted.

Ellis has his foot on Del Angel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Del Angel works his way back into a safe position though.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ellis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Del Angel's guard.

Ellis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Del Angel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Del Angel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Del Angel!

Ellis is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Del Angel pulls his head out easily.
Ellis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Del Angel is controlling the pace.
Del Angel passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ellis!

Del Angel prevents Ellis from getting the reversal.
Del Angel manages to capitalize on a mistake by Ellis to take his back!

Ellis rolls, trying to escape but Del Angel keeps control of the position.

Quinton Ellis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ellis can't escape the position.

Del Angel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Ellis rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
